Holly Carr, world renowned artist from Canning, Annapolis Valley, NS is bringing her Light in the Forest multi-media immersive experience to the Bella Rose Arts Centre this February.

Bringing light, positivity and beautiful performance art to the dreary days of winter, Holly Carr’s Light in the Forest is designed to engage audiences and link them and their families to mental health resources. The Halifax presentation will include performances by local youth groups.

Holly Carr originally created Light in the Forest as an art installation for Acadia University Art Gallery. She then transformed Light in the Forest into a multi-media immersive experience, an award-winning children’s book by the same name, and digital app designed by students, Acadia University, and Red Space partnerships. The app guides people through Holly Carr’s Light in the Forest to shine a light on youth mental wellness and lead them to resources in their own community.

Our impactful presentations, which take place throughout the year all over HRM, have a distinct musical theatre flair. Shows include a wide range of creative and colorful singing, choreography and dramatic narrative elements as well as special dance and instrumental features—all complemented by beautiful set staging and artistic multimedia. Wendy Birt, THR!VE creator and choir director, is a certified elementary school teacher and lifelong vocal soloist and public speaker with a passion for interdisciplinary arts. Miles, twice ranked as one of the world’s top hundred female wrestlers, recalls her chance casting at the inception of Mythos: Ragnarök. “My partner, Charlie, who wrestles as Charlie Winston, is six-foot-nine, so Ed called looking for a literal giant to be part of the show. It was only when we got talking that he said he thought he might have this part for me. The rest was history.”

Brian Patafie grew up in Greenwood Nova Scotia in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Years later following his University graduation he ventured out for the next 44 years working as an athletic trainer in both the professional hockey and the junior hockey industry including stints with the AHL Nova Scotia Voyageurs and the Moncton Golden Flames.

After retiring in 2021 Brian followed his first love and became a standup comedian and since that time he has performed in clubs and theatres all over North America. In October of 2022 he reached what he calls the pinnacle of his new career when he was the Featured act for Comedy Sensation Christine Fekete on her "What The Fekete Tour" an eight city, twelve show tour through the United Kingdom. On Tuesday October 3rd Brian along with Christine and the Pride of Venezuela Hector Rivas take to the stage at the Bella Rose Arts Centre in Halifax for The Funny As Puck Tour Atlantic Edition, ninety minutes of continuous laughter about their lives in general and Brian will mix in a bit of hockey.

Author, columnist, and comedian Steve Hofstetter is often called the hardest working man in show-business. With all due respect to the late James Brown.

Hofstetter's national TV debut came on ESPN's Quite Frankly, where Stephen A. Smith yelled at him for three minutes. Hofstetter has also appeared on CBS' "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson", Showtime's "White Boyz in the Hood", VH1's "Countdown", Sundance's "On the Road in America", and ABC's "Barbara Walter's Special", where he thankfully did not cry. He is the host and executive producer of "Laughs" on Fox networks, where he only cries occasionally.

One of the top booked acts on the college circuit, the original writer for collegehumor.com has also released six albums. Hofstetter has written humor columns for the New York Times, SportsIllustrated.com, and NHL.com, where he publicly admitted to being a Ranger fan.

After hosting Four Quotas on Sirius Satellite Radio for two seasons, Hofstetter moved to broadcast radio, and his Sports Minute (Or So) was syndicated on over 170 stations and in over 30 newspapers. Hofstetter's second live comedy album ("Cure For the Cable Guy") reached #20 on Billboard's comedy charts. While an undergraduate at Columbia University, Hofstetter was a well-read columnist for the Columbia Daily Spectator and a voice of the Lions. After a summer writing for Maxim, ESPN, and Sports Illustrated for Kids, Hofstetter syndicated his column in several newspapers.

Without his glasses, Hofstetter also looks a great deal like Michael Rappaport.

But my friends, this is not your average book tour. And I know, from the bottom of my soul, that this is something we all need right now.  

This tour is about connection. It’s about Feeling Seen. It’s about how we got so lost in this experience of being human – and how we can find our way back home together. Each of these nights, in each of these cities, for at least a couple hours, we’ll dive right into the beautiful cycle of emotion, acknowledgment, and reconnection.
